Accommodation FAQs

Stay Questions
Answered

Where is the best place to stay in Chamonix for skiing?
For Les Grands Montets (experts), stay in Argentière. For Brévent–Flégère (intermediates), stay in Chamonix centre. For beginners, stay in Les Houches. All areas are connected by the free valley bus, so no location is badly placed for accessing all ski areas.
Are there ski-in/ski-out chalets in Chamonix?
Yes — true ski-in/ski-out exists but is limited. The best options are in Argentière near Les Grands Montets and at Les Houches. In Chamonix centre, some properties are within 5 minutes' walk of the Brévent cable car. Luxury chalet agents specialising in Chamonix can identify genuine ski-in/ski-out properties.
When should I book accommodation in Chamonix?
Book as early as possible for peak periods — Christmas, New Year, and February half-term sell out 6–12 months in advance. January (excluding half-term), March, and early April offer better availability and lower prices. Last-minute deals are rare in peak season Chamonix.
