Geneva Airport in 90 minutes. Paris in 6 hours. Here's every way to reach the valley with your ski gear.
From Geneva Airport
Geneva Airport (GVA) is the most popular arrival point for Chamonix ski holidays, serving direct flights from dozens of UK and European cities.
Direct coach from Geneva Airport Terminal 1 (ground floor exit) to Chamonix town centre. Multiple departures daily throughout ski season. Takes ski bags in the hold for a small supplement. Book online in advance for guaranteed seats in peak season.
Door-to-door from the airport arrivals hall to your Chamonix accommodation. Ski racks or boot room included. Ideal for families and groups of 4+ where the per-person cost becomes competitive. Book well in advance in peak season.
Drive the A40 motorway (E25) directly from Geneva Airport to Chamonix. Gives you complete flexibility in the valley and for day trips. Note: toll fees on the A40 apply both ways. Parking in Chamonix is paid — most accommodation has limited spaces.
Train from Geneva to Martigny (Switzerland), then the scenic Mont Blanc Express narrow-gauge railway to Chamonix. Beautiful mountain scenery but slower than the bus. Skis travel in the goods car.
💡 Peak season tip: Friday evenings and Saturday mornings during February half-term and Christmas week see heavy traffic on the A40 approaching Chamonix. Allow an extra 30–60 minutes by car or shuttle. The SAT bus uses bus lanes and is often faster than private vehicles in these conditions.
