Where to rent skis, boots, poles, and helmets in Chamonix — and how to save money doing it.
Hire Options
Most visitors to Chamonix rent all their equipment on arrival. Here's what each category costs and what to look for.
Standard ski sets (skis + poles) start from ~€20/day. Performance carving or all-mountain skis cost more. Poles are often included with skis.
~€15–25/day. The most important fit item — take time to get boots properly fitted. Wear thin ski socks. Boots that don't fit ruin the holiday.
~€5–10/day. Helmets are strongly recommended and increasingly mandatory in ski schools. Many shops include a helmet in package deals.
💡 Book online in advance: Most Chamonix hire shops offer 10–20% discount if you book and pay online before arriving. Intersport, Skiset, and Sport 2000 all have online booking. Collect your gear in minutes rather than queuing at the shop.
